To achieve this enhanced pop, Proton tweaked the proprietary 15mm Polypropylene Honeycomb core which stretches the sweet spot from edge guard to edge guard, eats up vibrations for a soft feel, and works to increase dwell time, to also add response and power. We feel that this effectively changes this paddle from that of a control qualification to an all-court weapon.
Similalry, by dropping the weight from 8.3-ounces to 8.25-ounces the Player Model also offers increased manueverability so that we don't feel slow and lazy near the net. Finally, the original NanoTac textured carbon fiber hitting surface returns with its impressive tac, impressive linger time, and long lasting performance, enabling us to hit every shot in our bag. Who knows, with this paddle and it's 5.5" octagonal handle, we may even learn a few new ones.
